View the poetry of this Poartry composition by clicking on the small tab. The work is dedicated to the genius who designed the de Havilland Spitfire. The plane that, in no small part, was intrumental in winning the Battle of Britain. Reginald A Mitchell carried on his creative flare from his winning plane designs that repeatedly won the Shneider air race trophies between the wars. Unfortunately he died before the great air battle in 1940 that saw off any chance of invasion by the German forces.
